Betta Lights is proud to be associated with Calcamite (Pty) Ltd, our business partner, for whom we developed a focussed solar energy and energy management module for their Calcamite Bio-mite flush toilet system. It is a self-sustaining, closed looped toilet system, ideal for rural use. The system prevents groundwater pollution and uses no external water, yet it is a fully flushable toilet with minimal maintenance. Betta Lights is Calamite’s partner for the energy sub-system used in the toilets. 

After more than 2 years of intense testing of the solution, it is since 2015 available to the market and it is believed that the unique sanitation solution will make available diginity to those living rural and off the grid.
